Bema started at the University of Miami. The process we went through was spread across a dozen websites, a few spreadsheets and a lot of reminders from our parents. We’re building the one place we wish we’d had.
Calm over clever
The person on the other end is a stressed seventeen-year-old or a worried parent. We write plainly and don’t oversell.
Students own their work
Parents help by invitation. The AI helps without writing. The student decides.
Honest about limits
If something isn’t possible, like importing into the Common App, we say so instead of pretending.
Private by default
We collect what’s needed to help and refuse what isn’t, starting with Social Security numbers and logins.
